Welcome to the Siddle Family Web Site

Hello, we are Martyn and Sheila Siddle.

Sheila was born a Norton. See the Family Tree page for her forebears.
This is the second time for both of us. Sheila was divorced from Chris Tattersall in 1995, my first wife Barbara died of Cancer in 1993. We have five children between us, Sheila has three, Jane, Michael and Vikki. I have two, Victoria and James. We were married on the 24th May 1997.

Me? I work for Leeds City Council as a Principal IT Officer. That's why I can do this nurdy stuff. It's too much fun to be called real work. Click here to eMail me. Sheila works for Kirklees Council as a Senior Home Care Assistant. She does Yoga, Keep Fit, Water Colour painting and has recently gained her City and Guilds in IT Principles.

Jane works for a bank call centre in Harrogate, she was born in 1970 and her husband is called Paul McLaughlin, he has two children from before: Faith, born in 1994 and William, born in 1997. Michael has his own painting and decorating business and runs two Karate clubs. His wife is called Wendy and she has a young son called James. They have a boy, Adam, born in 2003 and a girl, Amy, born in 2006. They live in Leeds. Michael was born in 1973.

Vikki and her fiance Joram live in Huby near Harrogate, Joram graduated from Trinity and All Saints and runs his own company auditing council benefits. He has just written a children's book which has been accepted by a publisher. Vikki is studying to be a dental nurse, she was born in 1975.

Victoria (Vic) lives in Sausalito, San Francisco. She is married to Jay (Jason) who hails from New York. Jason is a boat builder and graduated from the Arques Boat building school in 2003. Vic is working as a teacher at the Headlands Institute. She formerly worked at Slide Ranch where they teach city kids how food is grown. She is expecting a baby girl in April.

James. graduated from Loughborough University in 1996. He's working at IBM in Hursley Park as a software engineer and has a little flat in Winchester. James was born in 1975.

We live in Denby Dale, a small town in West Yorkshire, England. Denby Dale is famous for making record-breaking Meat and Potato Pies, they're only made about once per generation, the last one was made in September 2000 to celebrate the Millennium, it weighed 12.16 tonnes and for my sins, I was on the committee. What a weekend that was!

If you visit the Family Tree page, it starts with Ralph Siddle from Wensley. I think that the family originated in Grinton in Swaledale and migrated south over the years to Masham and then Melmerby and finally Leeds about the time of the Industrial Revolution. There's more information here.

Most of the boxes on the Family Tree chart are links to other pages. If the mouse pointer changes into a little hand when you hover over the box, it'll take you to the children of that particular Siddle. Similarly, the links will take you back from a child to a parent. Or you can come back here.
